We’re continuing with our efforts to get legislation passed that would reduce or eliminate the duties paid on pepperoncini. We’re in the final stages of getting the legislation introduced. Before we go any further, we want to confirm that there are no additional HTS numbers members are using when importing pepperoncini. Based on input from our attorneys, the HTS numbers we’re pursuing are:

2001.90.3800 (9.6% duty) – prepared or preserved with vinegar over .5%.

2005.90.9700 (11.2%) – prepared or preserved with vinegar, but less than .5%.

2005.90.5510 (14.9%) not prepared or preserved by vinegar or acetic acid.

Please provide any feedback as soon as possible.
