GSP Review - Dates

The U.S. Trade Representative is including a petition to add dates (HTS#s 0804.10.20, 0804.10.40, 0804.10.60, 0804.10.80, and 2008.99.25) to the list of GSP-eligible articles for all beneficiary developing countries in its annual review of the GSP program. The products are currently eligible for duty-free treatment if imported from “least developed beneficiary countries,” which does not include most GSP-eligible countries. The petition, if granted, would apply to all GSP-eligible suppliers.
Requests to appear at the public hearing to be held in connection with this review must be received by March 10. Pre-hearing briefs or statements are also due by March 10. The hearing will be held March 24. Post-hearing briefs or statements are due by April 15. Decisions resulting from the review are to be announced on or about June 30.
