Senate Committee Passes Food Safety Bill
Next step is a vote by the entire Senate.

Friday, November 20, 2009

The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee unanimously passed S. 510, the bill dealing with food safety. There were no significant changes to the bill. The next step is a vote by the entire Senate, though committee chairman Sen. Tom Harkin said it’s unlikely the bill would be considered this year given the amount of Senate time being taken up with the healthcare reform issue.
