The United States Trade Representative published a notice announcing it accepted petitions to add the following food products to the GSP program:
HTSUS 0710.22.40 - Beans, uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water, frozen, reduced in size (green beans, lima beans, misc.)
HTSUS 0710.90.91 – Mixtures of vegetables, uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water, frozen.
USTR also announced the following schedule for conducting an annual review unless otherwise specified in a Federal Register notice.
Nov. 6 – Due date for submission of pre-hearing briefs and requests to appear at the GSP Subcommittee Public Hearing on the 2009 GSP Annual Product Review.
Nov. 17 – Due date for submission of new petitions to grant waivers to CNLs for products exceeding the competitive need limitations in 2009 and for determinations of products not produced in the U.S. as of January 1, 1995.
Nov. 19 – GSP Subcommittee Public Hearing on all product petitions accepted for the 2009 GSP Annual Product Review
Dec. 3 – Due date for submission of product petition post-hearing briefs.
Feb. 2010 – The USITC is scheduled to publish a public version of the report providing advice on the potential impacts on U.S. industry and consumers based on the product petitions accepted in the 2009 Annual Product Review.
June 30, 2010 – Modifications to the list of articles eligible for duty-free treatment under GSP resulting from 2009 Annual Product Review.
