Pistachios from Iran - Preliminary Results of CVD Review

Commerce issued the preliminary results of the administrative review of the countervailing duty order on in-shell roasted pistachios from Iran, covering the period January 1, 2004 through December 31, 2004.
Commerce applied adverse facts available because Nima and the Government of Iran (GOI) did not respond to requests for information. Commerce calculated the individual subsidy rate for Nima, the only exporter subject to this review, at 66.50 percent ad valorem.
As Nima is the exporter but not the producer, should the final results of this review remain the same as the preliminary, the final results will apply to all subject merchandise exported by Nima. The preliminary results have no impact on duty deposits. Any change comes with release of the final results, which are due in approximately four months.
