The U.S. Customs and Border Protection published the tariff rate quota for imports of canned tuna.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection published the tariff rate quota for imports of canned tuna, classified under subheading 1604.14.22, HTSUS, for calendar year 2008. The tariff rate quota level is 17,667,724 kilograms. The quota was oversubscribed at opening moment on January 2, 2008.

All entry summaries and/or warehouse withdrawals presented at opening moment on January 2, 2008 will be prorated as follows: .8249879 or 82.49879 percent of the presented quantity shall be liquidated at the in-quota (low) rate 6 percent (HTS 1604.14.22) and the remainder shall be liquidated at the over-quota (high) rate 12.5 percent (HTS 1604.14.30).

Entry summaries and/or warehouse withdrawals presented after 12:00 p.m. EST January 2, 2008 will be liquidated at the over-quota (high) rate 12.5 percent (HTS 1604.14.30).
